Transformer

Transformers G1
Comic Series

1990. Jackpot, an Autobot Action Master Strategist, appears for the first time.

A lively, high-spirited character from the Transformers G1 comic series, unlike his Transformer counterparts who came before him, Jackpot cannot convert.

He belongs to a Transformer sub-group affected by an extremely potent substance called Nucleon. Nucleon has the power to boost energy and make Transformers stronger. However, in doing so, it eliminates the ability to transform.

But Jackpot has his Targetmaster partner Sights to compensate. Sights can convert into a very useful hand-held, self-propelled photon cannon.

When it comes to speed, Jackpot is not all that fast. But he's bright, skillful, and extremely brave. He's a chancer who plays for high stakes, but because of his incredible good luck, invariably succeeds in whatever he does.

Jackpot has appeared in all three Transformer publications.

Dreamwave Productions gave him a one page biography, but the company closed down before he could appear in any storyline. Fun Publications had him starring in the text based "Gone Too Far", set on Transtech Cybertron. His partner Sights, however, didn't accompany him. Jackpot's part in IDW Publishing's "Spotlight" was a rather brief affair. Working on the Gamus 9 penal colony, it was raided by Benzaitron and he was killed in the first wave of attack.
